London, 7th October 2014 – The Financial Services Forum has shortlisted Aspectus PR in its Public Relations category for the 2014 Awards. The shortlisting is a result of the agency’s work on eToro, the social investment network.

Aspectus was set the goal of helping eToro increase its reach to the man on the street. To achieve this, the team embarked on a media relations campaign which secured meetings with the likes of The Economist, Bloomberg and The Daily Telegraph. The stand out piece of coverage was with The Sunday Times, which led to a 300 per cent rise in eToro’s UK user base.

London, 9th July 2014 – Aspectus PR today announced that it has appointed Sophie Hodgson as head of technology. Hodgson will focus on rapidly growing and developing the technology team through the acquisition of new business. Prior to joining Aspectus, Hodgson ran her own communications consultancy and was previously a board director at Speed Communications. She has worked on a broad spectrum of clients including Bloxx, Compuware, Informatica, Qinec and Virgin Media Business.

“With many new companies disrupting the landscape and bringing to market new approaches and platforms, the technology sector has a real spring in its step,” says Hodgson. “Perceptions of PR have also changed. A former PR Week 29 under 29, Hodgson started her career at Spark Communications, before joining Rainier PR, which later merged with four other agencies to become Speed Communications in 2009. She brings with her over a decade of experience and, at Speed, oversaw a wide ranging client portfolio that included both B2C and B2B technology brands. She joins three other ‘home grown’ PR week 29 under 29s among the Agency’s senior management.

Based in the London office, Chris will play a key role in servicing existing accounts and growing its financial services client-base.

Chris is a seasoned PR consultant with over 15 years’ experience in PR and communications and nearly a decade in financial services and technology. In senior client-facing roles at Metia and Hotwire, he ran PR programmes for businesses in the capital markets and banking sectors. These tackled a range of topics including risk management and regulatory reform, payments, core banking, market data, and electronic trading. Most recently, Chris was a freelance consultant, delivering strategic counsel and content to clients across the industry.

Based in the London office, Victor joins Aspectus from The University of Oxford and is a languages graduate specialising in French and Russian. He also brings with him experience of amateur journalism and a keen eye for detail in research.

London, 12th February 2014Aspectus PR’s financial services team is delighted to have been shortlisted in the PR Moment Golden HedgeHog Awards 2014. The shortlisting recognises the team’s exceptional financial services campaign for the social investment network, eToro.

Aspectus was brought in to help eToro open up the world of investment to the average UK person on the street. The aim was to cultivate quality media relationships and coverage in a short time on a shoestring budget.

The team had three months to prove itself and did exactly that, generating more than 25 pieces of coverage in the nationals, financial services, lifestyle, and tech media, including broadcast and several influential blogs. Aspectus PR also managed a media tour that took in leading titles such as The Economist, Bloomberg, CNBC, The Times, The Daily Mail, What Investment, and The Telegraph.

The stellar growth achieved by the social investment network during the campaign ensured eToro signed as a retained client at Aspectus. It took three years for eToro to reach its 50 millionth trade, but the site celebrated its 100 millionth trade just six months later, with the user base growing from 2.7 million to 3 million. This spike in interest was in many cases directly attributable to media exposure, with a 300 per cent rise in UK user numbers in the week following a major piece in The Sunday Times.

Based in the agency’s London office, Rosie will play a key role in supporting and developing the team’s ever expanding client base.

Previously based in Surrey, Rosie has moved to Aspectus from bcm, a global technology B2B PR agency, where she worked on a combination of energy and events clients, including the 17th Global Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 17), the biggest global gas event of 2013.
