Over the festive period, TechTarget had a few reasons of its own to celebrate and invited partners and readers, including a few of the Aspectus team, to its London offices to share a glass or two. The publisher announced that TechTarget International had grown by more than 50% annually for the last four years.

Given the considerable change the publishing industry has witnessed, it’s great to see companies such as TechTarget thriving on the opportunities that have emerged. It also serves to emphasise the importance of having a global outlook in today’s business environment, a point reiterated by PRmoment within its key PR trends for 2013.

Today, TechTarget has offices throughout the world, but it is looking to emerging markets such as Latin America for further growth and, among the various announcements made at its recent event, was the news it had launched a Spanish language version of SearchDataCentre. The new site will provide support to IT buyers as well as technology marketers focused on the region, where TechTarget already has 400,000 subscribers generating 3.2 million page impressions and 21,000 leads per quarter.

TechTarget also announced its acquisition of LeMagIT, a leading French IT media brand, while Computer Weekly editor Bryan Glick, and MicroScope editor Simon Quicke risked life and limb to speak from atop a rickety filing cabinet to update us on the evolution of their magazines.

According to Glick, Computer Weekly’s audience has grown substantially since it made the switch to digital only, following 45 years of print, while Quicke reflected on the changes taking place at Microscope, which include a ‘re-platformed’ website, new content and a much wider variety of integrated online products.

Microscope was celebrating its 30th anniversary and as the speeches came to a close, a huge birthday cake was wheeled through the packed office. Although not everyone managed to get a slice, there was a generous amount of free food and drink on offer and with that many journalists and PRs in one room there was a true party atmosphere.
